Every Friday Night
Club Night
The weekly heartbeat of the Saengerbund. Doors open at seven, the kitchen serves, the bar is full, and chorus rehearsal happens in the back room. It's the easiest way to meet members.

The groups, clubs and weekly gatherings that meet year-round at the Saengerbund
Beyond the big public events on the calendar, most of life at the club happens through these recurring groups. Members drop in as their schedules allow — visitors are welcome to most.

Rehearses Friday evenings
The choral society at the heart of the Saengerbund since 1858. Men's, Ladies', and Mixed choruses sing the traditional German repertoire and have won numerous awards in competitions throughout Connecticut and New England. New voices are always welcomed.
Friday nights · Members' lounge
Friendly games of the classic German three-handed card game. The regulars are happy to coach newcomers — we've taught it to a few generations now. Bring a beer, take a seat.
Range nights · spring through fall
The club's shooting society. We run an indoor air-rifle range and shoot pistol and small-bore at the local club range. A safety briefing and orientation are required before joining the line.
Winter season · when the ice cooperates
Bavarian ice-stock sport — somewhere between curling and shuffleboard. We play outdoors during cold snaps and indoors on dry ground the rest of the year. The rules are picked up in five minutes.
Weekly practice · year-round
Our brotherhood of historical fencers. Long-sword forms drawn from the Liechtenauer tradition and the Italian school, taught from the ground up. Loaner equipment for the first month while you decide whether it's for you.
