Rehearses Friday evenings
The choral society at the heart of the Saengerbund since 1858. Men's, Ladies', and Mixed choruses sing the traditional German repertoire and have won numerous awards in competitions throughout Connecticut and New England. New voices are always welcomed.
Every Friday night
Friendly games of the classic German card game. The regulars are happy to coach newcomers; we've taught it to a few generations now. Bring a beer, take a seat.
Weather permitting
The club's shooting society. We shoot 22 caliber, small rifles, and occasionally pistols or shotgun trap.
Winter season · when the ice cooperates
Bavarian ice-stock sport, somewhere between curling and shuffleboard. We play outdoors during cold snaps and indoors on dry ground the rest of the year.
Bi-weekly practice
The sword dance is a classic German men's tradition. For more info contact lfrazon@gmail.com.
Sunday gatherings
Members gather on Sundays to try different baking and cooking recipes, from Portuguese rolls to Alsace apple tarts. All skill levels welcome; just bring an appetite.
