Retro Rockin' Night

A lively mid-winter dance party celebrating the best decade in music. Members and guests dress to impress in 80s style, big hair, neon, and all, the dance floor fills up fast, and the kitchen keeps the cold at bay with hot food and cold drinks. A guaranteed cure for the February doldrums.

Annual · May

Maifest

The Saengerbund's springtime celebration, a German May Day tradition that signals the end of winter and the arrival of warm-weather Gemütlichkeit. Expect live music, traditional dancing around the Maibaum (maypole), German food fresh from the kitchen, and cold beer in the biergarten as the club grounds come alive for the season.

Bierfest

Our beloved German beer festival, held outdoors each summer on the club grounds. Cold imported and domestic beers, traditional German food fresh from the kitchen, live music, and dancing under the tent. A warm-weather institution since the early 2000s.

Oktoberfest

The Saengerbund's autumn tribute to Bavaria's most famous tradition. Held each fall in the grand German spirit, tall steins, hearty German fare, accordion music, and the whole community raising a glass together. Think pretzels, sausages, and lederhosen-worthy good times.

Schlachtfest

A cherished HSB tradition rooted in the German harvest feast. The evening opens with a ceremonial procession, a mock eulogy, and the singing of the traditional farewell, then the real feast begins: a full spread of roasted pork, housemade sausage, sauerkraut, and sides, all washed down with good beer and Gemütlichkeit.

Christkindlmarkt

A traditional German Christmas market held each November. Artisan vendors fill the hall with hand-crafted gifts, ornaments, and woodwork. The kitchen serves bratwurst, schnitzel, Stollen, and hot Glühwein. Live medieval Christmas music and pageantry performed by HSB members.

Twice yearly · Spring & Winter

Chorus Concerts

The heart of the Saengerbund since 1858, our Men's, Ladies', and Mixed choruses perform formal concerts twice a year. The Winter Concert closes out the season with beloved German carols and classical choral works; the Spring Concert celebrates the end of the rehearsal year with lighter, festive repertoire.
