About the Concerts

Choral singing has been at the core of the Saengerbund's identity since its founding in 1858, the name itself means "singers' league." Our Men's, Ladies', and Mixed choruses rehearse every Friday evening from September through June, and twice a year they take the stage for a formal public concert.

The Winter Concert closes out the calendar year with beloved German Christmas carols, classical choral works, and seasonal favorites performed in the warm atmosphere of the clubhouse.

The Spring Concert marks the end of the rehearsal year with a lighter, festive program, a celebration of the season and of another year of singing together.

Check the Events Calendar for concert dates, or join our mailing list to receive concert announcements.

Men's, Ladies' & Mixed

The Chorus

Three choruses sing under the HSB banner. The Men's Chorus carries the traditional German männerchor repertoire. The Ladies' Chorus brings its own richness to the stage. The Mixed Chorus draws from both, tackling the broad classical and folk choral tradition.

All three have won awards in the annual competitions among German-American choral societies throughout Connecticut and New England. New singers are always welcome, rehearsals are Friday evenings, September through June. No audition required; just a love of singing.
