Join us in November each year for a Christmas adventure that, in a few hours, brings you back 700 years into an honored medieval tradition. Our Christkindlmarkt showcases handmade crafts and works of art by the finest artisans, the heart-warming sounds and sights of live Christmas music and pageantry, and delicious German food specialties.
It's a delightful way to experience and begin the holiday season in Connecticut. The air fills with the fragrance of sizzling bratwursts, schnitzel, sweet breads and pastries, roasted and candied nuts, and hot spiced Glühwein.
Decorated booths sell wonderful Christmas decorations, hand crafts, and a variety of sweet treats: German cakes, cookies, chocolates, pastries, and sweet dough breads called Stollen. There will be live music and 6 live performances of Medieval Christmas customs. All the performers are HSB members.
All are welcome, bring a friend or two! For more information call 860.953.8967. We ask for a donation from adults, with a portion donated to Newington for those in need this holiday season.
